UPDATE @ 6:55 p.m. (May 18): Police have no suspects and have made no arrests in this afternoon's deadly shooting on West Southern Avenue, Springfield police Lt. Jeff Meyer said.
The victim, identified only as a male, died at Springfield Regional Medical Center.
Meyer said the victim was pronounced dead before he could be taken to Miami Valley Hospital.
“He was in grave condition when he left here,” the lieutenant said, referring to the location where the man was found.
Meyer said that according to the preliminary investigation, the man had been shot at least once but multiple shell casings were found in the area of the shooting.
“There was a vehicle seen leaving the area so we’re trying to gather further information on that at this time," he said.

A man has died following a shooting on West Southern Avenue in Springfield, police said.
The man’s identity has not been released.

Springfield Police are currently on scene of a shooting that occurred on a sidewalk near the 500 block of West Southern Avenue in Springfield.
Police say the man was alive when they transported him to Springfield Regional Hospital, but they could not provide his current condition.
Springfield Police are examining multiple shell casings and do not have a description of the suspect.
