1 person suffers smoke inhalation in Mad River Twp. house fire

UPDATE @ 12:32 a.m. (Oct. 18): Mad River Twp. fire chief one person who tried to fight kitchen fire suffered smoke inhalation.

The family will be displaced for the night from their home on Dayton Springfield Road because of soot and smoke damage.

Chief estimated damage at $20,000.

Fire was contained to the kitchen, chief said.

UPDATE @ 11:22 p.m. (Oct. 17): We're hearing that a medic unit has been called for one of the residents, who apparently inhaled smoke.

We’re also hearing the fire is believed to have started in the kitchen.

FIRST REPORT (Oct. 17)

Crews are on the scene of a house fire in the 5700 block of Dayton Springfield Road .

The fire was dispatched just after 11 p.m. and we’re hearing the fire now is out.

No injuries have been reported.

We have a crew on the way. We will update this report as we get information.
