Patrol: Springfield man killed in head-on crash

A Springfield man was killed in a head-on crash in Highland County Monday morning.

A 1986 Ford flat bed tow truck, driven by Michael Stone of Stout, Ohio was northbound on U.S. 62 when he went left of center and struck a 2008 Suzuki SXT, driven by 51-year-old Ronald Bowman of Springfield, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol Wilmington Post.

The crash happened at approximately 9:55 a.m.

Bowman suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the patrol.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
