Man taken by CareFlight after wreck

A male victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight after he suffered serious leg injuries in a crash this morning.

The driver, identified as Allen Hilderbrand, 43, of West Milton, was navigating a full-size, Ford van westbound on New Carlisle Pike when he lost control of his vehicle and ran head-on into a guardrail.

The crash happened just before 4:30 a.m. on New Carlisle Pike west of Funderburg Road.

The van didn't have much damage but Hilderbrand sustained serious leg injuries and State Highway Patrol troopers called CareFlight to take him to Miami Valley Hospital. His injuries were not considered life threatening.

Troopers said alcohol is a contributing factor to the crash.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office and Bethel Twp. Fire and EMS assisted troopers at the scene.
