At least 1 hurt in 6-vehicle Springfield Twp., Clark County, crash


UPDATE @ 6:37 p.m.: The six-vehicle accident in Springfield Twp. involved two separate accidents that occurred within seconds of each other, said Sgt. Richard Dickson, Ohio Highway Patrol, and each accident involved three vehicles.

There was one reported minor injury from one of the vehicles in the first accident, which involved a white SUV that rear-ended a pickup truck, the sergeant said. That collision involved a third vehicle.

Troopers were continuing to investigate the second accident.

The accident scene, 4th Avenue at East High Street, has been cleared.

FIRST REPORT

Clark County sheriff’s deputies and medic units are on the scene of a multiple-vehicle accident in the area of 4th Avenue and East High Street in Springfield Twp.

The accident was reported just before 5 p.m. and traffic remains backed up. We’re hearing that as many as six vehicles are involved.

We’re hearing that several people have been taken to hospitals from the accident, which occurred in steady rain.

We have a crew on scene and we’ll update this developing report.
