Heat, humidity expected after weekend

Overnight temperatures will fall into the upper-60s, said Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs.

Sunday will be warmer and more humid, with sunshine giving way to some afternoon clouds with highs in the upper 80s. An isolated shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon can’t be ruled out, she said.

Monday through Wednesday, highs in the afternoon will be in the 90s with the heat index values possible in the upper 90s, Vrydaghs said.

“The heat and humidity will be elevated all week,” she said. “This will likely be the first official heat wave of the year.”

Sun, afternoon clouds and the chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm is expected each day. Some storms could put down some heavy rain because of the humidity, she said.
