“This event started last year as an opportunity to work with and pull in more people to the farmer’s market and to create a healthier community,” said Anita Biles, a health educator with the health district.
There will be 24 health fair vendors at Wellville, including the Second Harvest Food Bank, Miami Valley Child Development Center, Family Youth Initiatives, CareSource and Clark County Combined Health District. The vendors will offer health screenings, information on topics such as reproductive health services and insurance. There will also be games, music, food, demonstrations, summer safety tips and prizes.

“This is another opportunity for us to do outreach and to make the community healthier,” said Biles. “It is also an effort to bring farmers and community members together so that local residents can buy fresh, local foods and also show them how to prepare those items in a healthy way.”
New this year will be a shuttle provided by Restoration Park Church that will run from Park Layne Elementary School to the CVS parking lot on Main Street. The shuttle will run every 10 minutes for those who are attending the event.
Event goers are also encouraged to check out the Farmer’s Market, which runs from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the same location.
