Greene co. mowing accident turns fatal


A man who was mowing grass overturned a large mower, leaving him pinned face-down in low-lying water in Greene County.

Around 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning, Greene County Sheriff’s deputies responded after getting a report of a mowing accident noticed by a postal carrier at 2335 East Springvalley-Paintersville Road at U.S. Route 68 in New Hope, north of the Clinton County line.

Nearby troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol also responded to the scene. A medic from Clinton County was requested, and shortly thereafter, the County Coroner was requested.

The identity of the victim has not been released. The accident remains under investigation.
