Scattered storms possible overnight; flood advisory in effect for some

A Flood Advisory is in effect until 1:45 a.m. for Butler, Preble and Wayne (Indiana) counties, issued by the National Weather Service. Radar indicated scattered thunderstorms with heavy rain moving northeast across the area. Minor flooding of low-lying and poorly drained streets, highways and underpasses will occur. In addition, farmland near creeks, streams and drainage ditches will experience minor flooding, according to the NWS.

DETAILED FORECAST

Overnight: Clouds will linger overnight and a few showers and storms will move in from the west, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Brett Collar said. As they move in, the storms are expected to weaken, but some could be strong. The biggest threat will be heavy rain leading to localized flooding. Gusty winds and hail also will be possible. It dries out towards daybreak. Temperatures overnight will vary from the 60s south, to the 50s north.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through 8 a.m. Sunday for Randolph County, Indiana.

Sunday: Partly cloudy skies are expected with highs in the middle 80s. It will be warm, breezy and muggy. While a stray shower or storm can't be ruled out, most of the day should be dry. The chance for more showers and storms increases into the evening hours and into early Monday.

Monday: Showers and storms are expected early, but it should dry out into the afternoon. Highs will be in the middle to upper 60s early in the morning. Most of the day will be in the 50s and lower 60s.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy skies are expected with highs in the lower to middle 60s. There is the chance for more showers and storms late Wednesday into Thursday.
