Firefighters battle Clark County flames

Firefighters in Clark County took a defensive stance against a fire that began in a mobile home in Bethel Twp. late Sunday evening.

The fire was dispatched just before 9 p.m. on Jason Drive, off of Lower Valley Pike. Witnesses at the scene said they saw heavy flames coming from the mobile home after firefighters arrived.

About 30 minutes after firefighters first arrived, they took a defensive stance against the flames, pulling firefighters out of the home and farther away from the blaze, dispatchers confirmed.

Mutual aid, including tankers from Fairborn, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Miami County and other nearby departments, assisted with the fire.

The homeowner was not home when the fire began and no one was injured. It has not been reported whether the home was a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
