Couple indicted in multiple Yellow Springs burglaries


A Xenia couple connected to multiple Yellow Springs burglaries has been indicted on several charges.

A search warrant was served May 7 at the East Market Street home of Oliver Simons, 34 and Bianca Stone-Chappelle. A large amount of stolen items, drugs and drug paraphernalia were recovered by law enforcement officials.

Simons is indicted on felony charges of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, conspiracy to commit engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, three counts of burglary, two counts of money laundering, three counts of receiving stolen property and three misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property.

Stone-Chappelle’s felony charges include engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, conspiracy to commit engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, burglary, money laundering, and receiving stolen property. She has also been indicted on three misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property.

Charges were presented to a grand jury last week.

The burglaries had Yellow Springs businesses and residents on high alert. Everything from electronics to coins had been stolen, police said.
