2 arrested in armed robbery at Springfield Verizon store

Convicted robber gets 14 years

A man convicted of aggravated robbery has been ordered to serve 14 years in prison after robbing a woman at a Springfield bank.

Jeremy Dover, 28, robbed a woman at gunpoint outside of the store on Bechtle Avenue last summer. He, along with two other men, saw her withdraw a large amount of money and robbed her as she left the store.

Dover was accused of following the woman out of the store, snatching her purse and running away. A passerby noticed him and called police. That person followed Dover and eventually police arrested all three men.

Dover appeared in Clark County Common Pleas Court Friday morning. Three years of the 14-year sentence are due to the fact a gun was used during the robbery.
