Boater pulled from Indian Lake identified

A male who jumped into Indian Lake on Wednesday was pronounced dead after he was pulled from the water.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the man early Thursday as James Lamar, 75.

At about 12:30 p.m., rescue crews from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and rangers from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources responded to a report of a male who jumped in the water but never came back up.

A short time after a diving team was assembled to search the water, divers brought one personto the surface. He was taken to a hospital.

The initial report from ODNR stated two maleswho were boating had experienced engine trouble. One entered the water to look at the engine but never resurfaced.

The investigation is continuing, according to ODNR.
