As many as ten fire departments responded to a natural gas fire at 963 Enon Road Tuesday morning, August 13, 2013, in an area of new residential construction in Bethel Township. Workers were drilling a water well when they hit a pocket of natural gas approximately 300 feet underground. Fumes shot up the pipe in the well and into the rig's manifold, which became engulfed in flames. No one was hurt, but officials say that the rig is a total loss. Enon Road is currently closed as crews supervise the fire, which could take days to burn out. Jeff Guerini/Staff
