Toughest opponent: Kenton Ridge

Biggest influence: My cousin Logan Voorhees died in a car accident on February 6. He gave me someone to work for, someone to push me to be safe and do the right thing. He showed me that anything can happen and that one person's opinion doesn't decide your destiny. Live each day like it's your last and have no regrets.

Game-day rituals: Before a baseball game, I stretch out and drink a lot of water/Gatorade. I'll even have our trainer help me with some stretches. I usually put in my ear buds and listen to music on the bus for away games.

When I'm bored I like to … Take my dog for a walk around the house. It's good exercise for me, and she loves the attention.

Best thing about your favorite sport: I have a different mindset on the pitcher's mound. I love the feeling of being in control of the game and calling my own pitches. I also love seeing everybody on the other side of the fence cheering on our team. I get to be around a lot of my friends playing the game that I love.
