Top civilian post at Wright-Patt changing

A new civilian leader will take the reins at the Air Force Materiel Command, officials said Thursday.

Air Force Life Cycle Management Center executive Director Michael A. Gill will become AFMC executive director when current director Steve Butler retires June 30. Patsy Reeves, AFMC director of contracting, will take over Gill’s former position.

Butler is a 35-year Air Force civilian employee who has worked in a wide array of assignments, from developing precision guided weapons to development of the F-22 Raptor stealth fighter.

Gill is a former executive director of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Reeves has previously worked as program manager on several aircraft programs.

The AFMC executive director serves as the senior civilian manager who oversees a small business program, and advises the military commander on labor and contract issues, among other duties.
