Outdoor beauty and art will highlight the Women’s Association of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra’s 21st annual garden tour.

The tours will be Saturday and Sunday at five Springfield and Yellow Springs homes.

Tour tickets cost $15 in advance, and proceeds benefit the Springfield Symphony Orchestra.

Featured gardens include the Springfield homes of Chris and Sally Moore, 1274 Quinlan Court in Kingsgate Commons; Gary and Ginny Slack, 2830 Skylark Drive; Mike and Becky Miller, 2005 Audobon Drive; and Dwight and Yvonne Dobbins, 721 Moorfield Court.

The garden of Don and Christine Beard of 421 Dayton St. in Yellow Springs rounds out the tour.

“The gardens are lovely this time of year, and those with an interest in gardening can get landscaping ideas,” said Mary K. Shepherd, president of WASSO.

An addition last year will be expanded on with artists in each of the gardens working on their crafts.

Artists include woodcarver Peter Sinnott; Wendy James, who does broken stained-glass mosaics on repurposed vintages windows; glass painter Sonya Hollingsworth; Shari Loukoumidis with three generations of family artists; Katheryn Welsh with hand-painted cards; and oil painter Kelley Booze.

Advance tickets are available in Springfield at the Chandler House, Curves West, Schneider’s Florist, Frame Haven, Heart of Country, Katie’s Hallmark and the Springfield Symphony office. Tickets are available in Urbana at Bill’s Enchanted Florist and in Yellow Springs at Heaven on Earth Emporium.

Tickets can also be purchased the day of the tour for $20 each at any of the homes on it.

This is one of three annual fundraising events for the WASSO organization. It also sponsors a culinary home tour in the spring and a holiday tour in December.
