A face familiar to many local comedy and music fans will appear in what is sure to be this one of this season’s biggest flicks.

Demoine Kinney, an U.S. Air Force staff sergeant, will play the lead security guard in “The Avengers.”

Kinney said he’ll never forget the two weeks he worked on The Avengers in Cleveland and Wilmington. He had a speaking role.

“It was one of the greatest experiences I have had,” the Englewood resident said. “I thank God for it every day.”

The comic book-based film starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth will hit theaters May 4.

Kinney said he met several of the main actors, and director Joss Whedon thought he was funny.

About 50 Wright-Patterson Air Force Base airmen were used as uniformed extras in a scene for the film.

Professionally known as Deacon D, the 26-year-old and his wife, Marita Kinney, have five children.

The Dillon, S.C. native has played music and acted professionally since age 15. He appeared on “Last Comic Standing” in 2010.

He has preformed his character “Grandma Pearl” on several radio programs and at live shows during the weekend.
