Kettering Health Network names 1st woman president

Terri Day was named today as the first woman president of Kettering Health Network, which operates eight hospitals in the Dayton and Butler County region.

Day, a longtime executive with the Adventist faith-based heathcare system, will be responsible for providing operational oversight to align all hospitals and facilities in the network, according to a company statement.

“The future requires that our operations and service lines be designed to support ease of access and coordination of care throughout our entire network,” Day said. “We are a faith-based organization that puts patients at the center of care. Operating as one network means that we will be better able to care for patients who trust us to meet their health care needs throughout their lifetime.”

She is the first woman to run the 48-year-old hospital system and replaces Fred Manchur, the network’s president and chief executive officer since 2010 and who retains his title as CEO.

“Terri brings a tremendous amount of organizational and financial skills to her new position,” Manchur said. “She is highly qualified to guide the organization’s structure to fully operate as one network. This strategy will help to effectively utilize the strength of our network, so that patients will continue to have the same exceptional experience at each of our hospitals and outpatient facilities.”

Day jointed the Kettering network in 2010 as executive vice president of operations. Previously, she was vice president of Adventist Health in Roseville, Calif., where she developed integrated delivery networks to strategically advance the organization. She served also as vice president of hospital finance with financial oversight for six Adventist hospitals in central and southern California, and worked as chief financial officer for Loma Linda University Medical Center in California.

Kettering Health Network has eight hospitals: Grandview, Kettering, Sycamore, Southview, Greene Memorial, Fort Hamilton, Kettering Behavioral Health and Soin, its newest hospital.
