Video: ‘Bitter’ Sherrod Brown delivers on Warriors-Cavs bet

U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown made good on his bet with fellow senator Kamala Harris. Brown delivered four six-packs of Ohio’s Platform Beer Company beer to the California senator after the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals last week.

Dressed in a Golden State jersey and hat, with the Warriors victory parade playing on a television in the background, Brown admitted he still wasn’t happy with the result of the series.

“Maybe you can let Kevin Durant drink this beer since there’s no way you would have made it through the playoffs (without him),” Brown said. “Yes, there’s some bitterness in my voice.”

Harris, a fellow Democrat, couldn’t stop laughing, saying Brown looked fantastic in his blue and gold jersey and hat.

The Cavaliers defeated the Warriors in 2016, Cleveland’s first professional sports title in over half a century, coming back from a 3-1 deficit in the best-of-seven series for the first time in NBA history.

The Warriors countered by signing Durant, a controversial move that many in the media and around the NBA denounced, allowing Durant - arguably the best player in the league on par with Cleveland’s LeBron James - to play on a team that had already spurred talk of a possible dynasty before he signed.
