Maybe you’ve admired them when they pass you on the highway. Maybe you just like nostalgia. Either way, you’ll enjoy this weekend’s Vintage Truck Show, hosted by Vintage Truck Magazine in conjunction with Young’s Jersey Dairy.

“This is the 11th annual vintage truck show,” said Benjamin Smith, vice president of Ertel Publishing. “People bring classic vintage antique trucks and at the end of the show, we give out awards for things like the ugliest truck driven, longest distance driven, oldest truck and editor’s choice.”

Smith also says Young’s is having special treats, including vintage milkshakes and hamburgers, and that there will be door prizes and a free gift for kids. Entertainment will be provided by bluegrass musicians Ryan Judy followed by The Hamiltons.

“People who bring trucks are mostly subscribers to Vintage Truck magazine and some come due to word of mouth,” said Smith. “We’ll have over 100 trucks for people to see. We’ve had people from all over the country and Canada exhibit their trucks. We’ve had them from Connecticut to California. It’s a big show.”

Vintage trucks are trucks that were built between 1900 and 1980. “People can still bring trucks to show. They just have to show up on Saturday morning. There’s no cost to show your truck,” said Smith.

“It’s a great event. We have a lot of people who come who don’t know anything about trucks, but they enjoy seeing them, and they do learn things about them as they go. It’s a fun, family friendly atmosphere,” said Smith, “and of course there’s Young’s where, after the show, they can get delicious food and ice cream.”
