URBANA — A local man who was arrested in connection with an arson at his Washington Avenue home was indicted by a Champaign County Grand Jury Thursday, Feb. 4.
Tyler M. Dodge, 20, was arrested late last month after authorities said he confessed to starting a fire at his home at 343 Washington Ave.
Police said it is not clear why he started the fire, which caused serious damage to a rear section of the home.
According to information from Champaign County Common Pleas Court, Dodge faces two counts of aggravated arson.
Others indicted by the Champaign County Grand Jury include:
• Hope M. Nott, 31, of 5236 Catawba-Mechanicsburg Road, Mechanicsburg, on a charge of failure to provide verification of current address.
• Brian S. Ward, 46, of 431 S. Kenton St., Urbana, on two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
• Joshua R. Bateman, 24, of West Jefferson, Ohio, on one count of illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto grounds of a detention facility, one count of trafficking in heroin and one count of possession of heroin.
• Scott E. Snook, 35, of 7929 Coffin Station Road, Springfield, on two counts of having weapons while under disability.
• John A. Wallace, 29, of 2128 Boda St., Springfield, on two counts of improper handling firearms in a motor vehicle, and one count each of carrying concealed weapons and aggravated menacing.
• Angela D. Poarch, 25, of 203 Sara St., Urbana, on two counts of theft and four counts of forgery.
• Leah I. Miller, 24, of Hebron, Ohio, on two counts of theft and two counts of passing bad checks.
• Leslie R. Wing, 41, of 137 E. Sandusky St, Mechanicsburg, on a charge of domestic violence.
