Police headlines: Super Bowl OVI blitz this weekend

SPRINGFIELD - Three police agencies in Clark County are looking for drivers who may be intoxicated or violating other traffic laws during a weekend-long Super Bowl Blitz.

Springfield Police Division, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Springfield Post are conducting overtime patrols to look for OVI offenders, speeding and reckless drivers through Monday, each said.

The extra patrols are paid for by an Ohio Department of Public Safety grant

About $10,000 
in tools stolen

An employee of Stan’s Tire Center reported the theft of hand and power tools, valued at about $10,000, from the business at 17 S. Yellow Springs St.

The break-in occurred between 5:45 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the report.

Springfield

Resident billed for services not ordered

A man in the 700 block of Rice Street said he got a bill for more than $430 from a home security company for service he never ordered, according to a Springfield police report.

He suspected a previous tenant used his information to obtain the service.
