West Liberty man dies in crash
A West Liberty man died in a single-car crash in Logan County shortly before 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.
Jeffrey C. Shoemaker, 46, no address listed, died at the scene of the crash.
He was driving a 1992 Honda Accord northbound on County Road 5 south of County Road 118 when he lost control of the car, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Marysville Post.
The car then went off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole, troopers said.
The Rush Creek Fire Department and Logan County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash.
It was the sixth fatal crash in Logan County this year.
No further information was available from troopers on Sunday.
Three women arrested for fight
Three women were arrested on charges in connection with a fight in the 600 block of Cedar Street about 2:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21.
Windy L. Wiseman, 35, of 315 E. Madison Ave., was arrested on charges of domestic violence and assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.
Kimberly S. Lyons, 40, of the same address, and a 16-year-old girl were each arrested on two charges of assault and ordered into court.
Police alleged they smacked and punched a man and woman they knew, and that Wiseman bit the woman’s leg.
Two thefts reported in Springfield
Thefts reported to police and sheriff’s deputies included:
• A man in the first block of West Johnson Street reported $1,000 in cash taken from his apartment between 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, and 6 p.m. Saturday.
• A man in the first block of Perrin Avenue reported a TV and an XBox 360, valued at $1,700, stolen from his home between 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, and 10 a.m. Saturday.
