SPRINGFIELD — A local woman is facing criminal charges after reporting her son missing, allegedly because she was too drunk to remember where he’d gone, according to a news release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Tracy L. Perkins, 36, of 6 John Ave., New Carlisle, was arrested on charges of felonly child endangering Tuesday, March 16, according to the report.
Perkins called the Sheriff’s Office to report her 15-year-old son missing, only to call back and report that she knew where he was, according to the report.
When deputies arrived, they discovered that Perkins was “highly intoxicated,” and didn’t remember that she had given her son permission to leave the home, according to the report.
During the interview with deputies, Perkins fell asleep and had to be awakened by law enforcement and fire personnel, according to the report.
Investigators determined her unable to care for the teen or the other two minor children in the home with her, according to the report.
She was taken to Clark County Jail.
