SPRINGFIELD — Police are searching for a man who held up a gas station and demanded cash and two cartons of cigarettes late Sunday, March 14, according to a police report.
The robber went into Certified, 1350 N. Belmont, around 10:45 p.m, wearing an orange mask and carrying a black handgun, according to the report.
The gunman demanded money, then two cartons of cigarettes. According to the report the robber “advised he preferred Marlboro red.”
The clerk put the money and cigarettes into a plastic bag and the man fled the store, according to the report.
He is described as a male, approximately 35 to 45 years old, 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing an orange mask, dark pants and a blue plaid puffy jacket, according to the report.
No injuries were reported.
It is unknown how much cash the robber took.
