MAD RIVER TWP. — A Springfield man was killed Tuesday, Sept. 8, when he was struck by a pickup truck at Pleasant Valley Estates, 2125 S. Tecumseh Road.
According to Clark County Sheriff officials, Kevin McArthur, 44, of 2125 S. Tecumseh Road, Lot 259, had been talking to James Newton, of Fairborn, around 1 p.m. Tuesday, while hanging onto the passenger door of Newton’s truck.
Newton, who was parked in front of McArthur’s home, reportedly drove away quickly and McArthur fell and was run over by the truck.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told officers the two might have been having some type of verbal dispute prior to the accident, which is still under investigation, officials said.
