Man arrested on assault said he was trying to keep woman from buying drugs

SPRINGFIELD — A local man told police her was trying to prevent a woman he knew from buying heroin after he was arrested on assault charges for allegedly pushing her, according to a police report.

Danny L. Hockett, 29, of 822 Broadway Ave., was arrested on charges of assault and domestic violence Sunday, March 14, according to the report. 

Hockett pushed a woman he knew at his home around 5 p.m. Sunday, according to the report.

Hockett told police that he was trying to stop the woman from leaving to buy drugs, according to the report.

He was taken to Clark County Jail.
