Clark County Sheriff’s Office detectives, along with the U.S. Marshals’ Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, arrested a man Friday, Feb. 5, who was wanted in Florida on charges relating to the molestation of a juvenile in that state.
On Thursday, Feb. 4, the Fugitive Unit of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office in Vero Beach, Fla., told Clark County detectives that Florida authorities had issued an arrest warrant and were actively seeking David Richard Gabbert, 49, of 2043 S. Fountain Ave., deputies said.
The task force arrested Gabbert at a home in the 2700 block of Dorothy Lane Avenue about 7:35 a.m. Friday. He was charged with lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim younger than 12.
He was taken to the Clark County Jail and is scheduled to appear at the Clark County Municipal Court at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8.
