Local business robbed at knifepoint

A Springfield business was robbed Thursday, Oct. 29, when a man threatened a clerk with a knife and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to a report by the Springfield Police Division, a clerk reported the robbery at the Beverage Depot, 706 S. Burnett Road, at 8:36 p.m. The clerk told police he was in an office when he saw a man standing by the door. The suspect was described as a skinny white male with a dark hooded sweatshirt. His face was covered with a bandana and he was holding a 4-inch folding knife.

The suspect demanded cash and pushed his way into the office. After taking the money, he then fled the business on foot, according to the report.

Police collected fingerprints at the scene but the suspect could not be located.
