BETHEL TWP., CLARK COUNTY — A Springfield woman was killed late Saturday, Sept. 4, when she was struck by a car while attempting to cross Lake Road.

Robin Helton Shawver, 49, was crossing the road in the 2000 block of Lake Road around 11:30 p.m. when she was struck by a car which then fled the scene, according to the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers gathered evidence at the scene and with the help of Miami County Deputies were able to recover and seize a 1992 Buick LeSabre from an address on Bellefontaine Road in Miami County.

Officials have not released the name of the driver and no arrests have been made, however charges are pending, said Sgt. Mark Nichols, of the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
