PIKE TWP. — A Clark County deputy sheriff was injured after her cruiser crashed following a high-speed chase Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 8.
Deputy Christina Evans sustained a leg injury after her cruiser hit a pole on Bischoff Road just north of New Carlisle Pike around 3 p.m. Wednesday, said Lt. Don Lucas, Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Three people, whose names haven’t been released, were arrested on charges of receiving stolen property, said Lucas.
The chase began after another deputy spotted the vehicle, which had been reported stolen out of Huber Heights, near North Hampton Road shortly before 3 p.m., said Lucas.
Officials called off the pursuit for safety reasons, and Evans later spotted the vehicle in the Bischoff Road area, he said.
“Because the car had been reported stolen, we had some grave concerns over chasing the vehicle,” said Lucas.
Evans lost control of the cruiser and hit a telephone pole in the 1600 block of Bischoff Road, damaging the front driver’s side of the vehicle.
She was taken to an area hospital where she was treated for her injuries.
Officials haven’t determined to what speeds the chase reached.
More charges could come pending further investigation, said Lucas.
No other injuries were reported.
