ENON— Enon police searched the area around Cardinal Drive Thursday, Nov. 19, looking for a male who allegedly tried to abduct a 9-year-old boy playing in the woods, police Chief Troy Callahan said.

The boy was playing in the woods at about 3 p.m. Thursday after an early release from school, when he saw a man who allegedly tried to grab him, said Callahan.

“The child was able to pull away by kicking the male,” he said.

Police officers searched the area for the man but did not locate him.

“We did have the Springfield K9 out to do a track and it tracked to a parking lot,” he said.

The suspect is described as a male in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall and medium build. Anyone with more information should call the Enon police at (937) 864-5577.
