Threat heightens security at Northeastern H.S.

Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted the Clark County Sheriff's Office Thursday in investigating a threat found at the end of the school day at Northeastern High School.

Students were kept in classrooms after the "veiled threat" was found, evening activities were canceled and deputies will be on hand Friday morning at the school, according to a statement posted on the district's website from Superintendent Lou Kramer.

The threat was found in a bathroom stall and "was general in nature and did not mention a certain student or group of students," according to Kramer.

Kramer said the threat was similar to an incident at the school two weeks ago.

Kramer asked parents to talk to their children and to share any information they know about the threats with the school or the sheriff's department using the district's anonymous safety tip line at (937) 568-7117 or contacting building personnel.
