Springfield shooting victim identified


A Springfield man shot in the back on Saturday has been identified by the Springfield Police Division.

25-year-old Daniel E. Lollis was shot in the lower back outside a home in the 1400 block of South Center Boulevard at about noon on Saturday afternoon, according to a police report.

Lollis’ injuries are potentially life-threatening, the report says. He was transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center and later flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital.

Lollis was still listed as a patient at the Dayton hospital as of Monday morning, but no other information could be provided.

The shot that hit the victim is believed to be the only shot fired, Sgt. David Emmel told the News-Sun on Saturday.

The police division urged anyone with information to come forward about the incident.
