Springfield man shot outside of Yellow Springs Street house

A man was shot in the leg in the 1100 block of South Yellow Springs Street this morning.

Officers responded to the house around 1 a.m. and discovered a man shot on the front porch, according to a police report.

The victim told police he was on the sidewalk in front of the residence, when a vehicle stopped quickly in the street and a suspect came up to him between houses and fired an unknown amount of shots, according to the report.

Officers spoke to witnesses, but have not been able to come up with any descriptions of the suspect or the suspect vehicle, the report said.

The victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital aboard a medical helicopter for treatment.
