Springfield man accused of punching jail inmate, breaking bone

An inmate in the Clark County Jail has been accused of assaulting another inmate and leaving him with possible vision damage.

Kevin A. Bowshier, 39, of Springfield, has been charged with felonious assault in the Clark County Municipal Court. He pleaded not guilty on Tuesday and his bond was set at $15,000.

According to court records, an inmate was standing in line in the Clark County Jail waiting for medication to be distributed when Bowshier entered the line, allegedly cutting in front of him. When the inmate confronted Bowshier, the suspect allegedly punched the victim, causing a laceration to the man’s face.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where the victim was found to have a fractured right orbital bone and the victim also claimed to have reduced vision in his eye.
