Officers were called to the Soapbox Laundry, 1791 S. Limestone St., by a woman who said a man had overdosed in the laundromat bathroom.

Springfield police found Woodard in the restroom along with a syringe, spoon and other drug paraphernalia, according to a Springfield Police Division report.

The woman who called police told officers Woodard had left his baby in her care and that she didn’t know the man.

Woodard had been at the laundromat for at least seven hours, police said.

The child was sent home with a different family member, police said, and Woodard was taken to the Clark County Jail, where he is now booked on a $1,000 bond. ALLISON WICHIE
