A Clark County man found in possession of yard equipment and other items, hours after that property was reported stolen from a barn, has been taken to jail.
The sheriff's office said David Taylor Jr., 36, who has no known address, was stopped by detectives just after noon Friday.
They discovered in his vehicle property that was reported stolen from a barn in the 4600 block of Dolly Varden Road.
When they took Taylor to the Clark County Jail, it was on five counts of receiving stolen property stemming from a reported theft of several batteries from The Boat Shop, 3808 S. Charleston Pike, on May 29.
Hours before Taylor was stopped, Daniel Dean reported to the sheriff's office that an unknown person or persons went into his barn sometime between 9 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday and took a chainsaw, weed trimmer, air compressor and the battery from one of his vehicles.
Taylor is to be in Municipal Court on Monday on charges of felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor receiving stolen property
