Remains found in Greene County identified


Human remains found in a ditch on Rakestraw Road are those of a Pennsylvania woman.

The woman is 44-year-old Kayla Archer, also known as Kayla Herchelroath, according to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. The manner of death is still being investigated, but investigators said it is clear it was homicide.

Herchelroath’s remains were found June 7. There is no information that indicates she was living in Greene County at the time of her death.

Herchelroath’s residential status is under investigation as well, according to sheriff’s office officials.
