Police: Pawn shop thief tried to resell to store

A Springfield man allegedly stole an item from a pawn shop and attempted to sell it back to the same store five minutes later.

Police were called to Pawn Stars, 2819 E. Main St., around 4 p.m. Sunday after a store clerk said a man had stolen their property and then returned to the scene, according to police reports.

Police questioned Israel Frost, 35, who the clerk said stole a processor. Frost initially denied he had stolen the item and claimed he had returned home after visiting the store and had brought the item back with him to sell.

The store worker pointed out to police where a sales sticker had been removed from the top of the processor that Frost was trying to sell. The item was valued at $125, according to the police report.

After police read Frost his Miranda Rights, he admitted to taking the processor from the store and attempting to resell it.

Frost was charged with theft and was taken to the Clark County jail.
