Bogus return ends in woman’s arrest

Tierra Renee Williams, 18, of 713 Southgate Ave., was arrested and charged with theft.

According to reports, Williams entered Walmart on Bechtle Avenue about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday. Williams went to the back of the store to get an air mattress. She brought the mattress to the return lane and attempted to return it, stating she just did not have a receipt, the report said. STAFF REPORT

Man suspected of assaulting teen

A 22-year-old man is accused of pushing a 13-year-old girl down and preventing her from getting up. The victim claims that the man also punched her in the face and slapped her between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on the 1300 block of Cedarview Drive on Tuesday. STAFF REPORT

Man arrested for domestic violence

Carl Frederick Short, 52, of 2115 Tanager Road was arrested for domestic violence and placed in the Clark County Jail.

Short was intoxicated when he confronted the victim in their home Tuesday night. He trapped her in a closet, pinning her down with his knees on her chest and slammed her head against the floor and wall, the report said. The victim said she was also slapped and choked. STAFF REPORT

Thefts

An XBox 360, 49” flat-screen TV and 3 video games valued at $580 was stolen from a home on the 500 block of Wittenberg Avenue between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday. STAFF REPORT
