The victim, a 38-year-old male, was lying on a couch with a gunshot wound in his right lower leg, according to the Springfield police report.
Paramedics applied a sterile wrap to the wound, but the victim refused further treatment, according to the report.
Police said the victim would not tell officers where the incident occurred or who shot him.
