Kitchen knife-wielding man robs Springfield gas station

A Springfield gas station was robbed by a man wielding a kitchen knife, according to a report.

The man entered the Speedway gas station at 1314 E. Main St. at about 1:15 a.m. Tuesday morning wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black mask and gloves, the report said.

The man pointed a kitchen knife at an employee making coffee and asked for money, it said.

The employee gave the man the cash and he exited the store without making any more threats.

No injuries were reported, the report said.
