Hearing set for Clark County man in fatal 2013 crash

A Clark County man accused of driving without a license and causing an accident that killed an Ohio college student had an evidence hearing set Monday.

The hearing for Harinder Matharu, 39, is Aug. 7. No trial date has been set for Matharu, indicted on four counts of aggravated vehicular homicide.

The indictment alleges that Matharu, on Oct. 13, 2013, had no driver's license when he hit another vehicle at Ohio 235 and Gerlaugh Road.

Amanda Looman, 21, a senior at Franciscan University in Steubenville, was injured in the accident. She died of her injuries on Oct. 22.
