Fugitive sex offender arrested in Springfield

A 67-year-old convicted sex offender from Hamilton County was arrested by members of SOFAST, the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, early Thursday morning in Springfield.

Dennis Day was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to register as a sex offender in 2006.

Day was convicted in 1997 in Hamilton County of sexual battery charges involving a teenage girl. He served time in prison and was registering after his release until 2006.

Day’s whereabouts have been unknown for nearly seven years until he was arrested at a home in the 1200 block of Cobb Avenue in Springfield today. Day is in the Clark County Jail.
