Driver indicted in motorcylist's death

A Logan County driver is facing felony charges in the wake of an August accident that killed a motorcyclist.

Christian L. Fischer, 29, of East Liberty, is facing four felony counts stemming from the Aug. 11 wreck in which authorities say he was driving while intoxicated.

Fischer has been indicted on two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault and vehicular assault. He is also charged with a misdemeanor operating a vehicle under the influence.

The charges, filed Wednesday in Logan County Common Pleas Court, involve the death Charles S. Carpenter of Galion.

Also injured in the wreck was Fischer's girlfriend, according to published reports.

Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department did not suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash, but less than an hour later officials obtained a blood sample, according to published reports.
