Dog found dead in woods was shot in head


Sheriff’s deputies are investigating after a dog was found shot in the head in the woods near Spangler and Union Roads in Clark County.

According to deputies, just after 1 p.m. Monday, a witness reported seeing a couple walking their dog in to a wooded area.

The witness heard a gunshot, then saw the couple exit the woods without their dog.

The witness told deputies the couple left in a vehicle. The person then walked in to the woods and discovered the dog dead, shot in the head.

The dog was described as a mid-size, border collie mix breed.
