Sports fans in Clark County looking to enjoy Super Bowl LII on Sunday will see an increased police presence on the roadways as they travel to and from gatherings.
According to a press release from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, additional deputies will be assigned to roads and highways in the county during Super Bowl weekend. Overtime funds were made available to the force thanks to a grant from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office.
Officers will be on the lookout for drunk driving and speeding violations and ensuring people are wearing seat belts, according to the release.
Clark County Sheriff Deborah Burchett said she wants people to enjoy the celebration of the Super Bowl, but also wanted to remind motorists not to operate vehicles under the influence and always to wear seat belts while operating a vehicle or riding as a passenger.
