In Case You Missed It: 4 Clark County crime stories this week

Here are four crime stories that broke this week in Springfield.

Two dogs were shot in the backyard of their Springfield home, one of them in the chest, according to a police report.

Police responded to a home in the 100 block of West Parkwood Avenue where they found the two dogs, Diamond and Deuce, in the kitchen. Diamond was shot twice, once in the hip and once in the back leg. Deuce had been shot once in the chest. The owner sought treatment for the animals, who are now reportedly in great condition. No arrests were made.

A man was transported from Springfield Regional Medical Center to Miami Valley by helicopter after being shot in the back in a bar parking lot.

Police responded to the Wagon Wheel on South Burnett Road on Friday on reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found Zachary A. Foulke, 28, of Springfield, on the floor of the bar. Foulke said he had been pistol whipped by two men in the parking lot and then shot in the back. After the incident, he ran back into the bar, where police found him.

A Springfield home was vandalized and had the words “child molester” spray-painted on it late Tuesday night.

Police responded to the home in the 100 block of Cottage Place on reports of a burglary, but learned no burglary had taken place when they arrived. The person living in the home said he was laying down when his dog began barking. When he looked out the window, he said he saw another man standing outside with a can of spray paint.

A Springfield man faces more than 20 drug-related charges after allegedly admitting to being a drug dealer to police when he was found passed out in a vehicle.

Police responded to a report of a man passed out in the 300 block of Lincoln Park Circle on Monday. They allegedly found Robert D. Whitt, 29, of Springfield, behind the wheel. Officers allegedly noticed a baggie sticking out of Whitt’s pants pocket that contained an unknown white substance, according to court records. A search of the vehicle produced drugs including a total of 136 grams of methamphetamine, other drug paraphernalia and a handgun, according to court records.
